Use payout simulators to troubleshoot issues with available balance payouts to linked bank accounts in a controlled environment. By simulating payout errors and edge cases, you can prepare steps for handling potential errors in the Sandbox before going live.
Note
The Merchant portal shows a Payouts page in the left navigation panel, while the Partner portal shows a Withdrawals page. Although both pages have the same functionality and portal location, they are slightly different in titles and naming conventions.
Activate Payout Simulators
Trigger each simulator by entering a specific withdrawal amount. Unlike other simulators, all payout simulator triggers work on both Vantiv and VCore platforms for seamless cross-platform payout response simulation.
To trigger a payout simulator:
Select Withdrawals in the left navigation panel.
Click Schedule Withdrawal.
Select One Time from the How Often dropdown.
Use one of the following triggers for the Amount field to simulate a payout processing error:
Trigger Amount
Simulator Response Message
$101.25
Insufficient funds in account.
$201.26
Account is closed.
$301.27
No account on file.
$401.28
Invalid account number.
$501.29
Unauthorized debit to consumer account.
$601.31
Returned at request of ODFI.
Select Actual from the Amount Type dropdown.
Click Create Withdrawal.
Result: The payout simulator returns the platform simulator response message aligned with the amount.
Important!
Do not use values outside the specified triggers to activate Sandbox simulators. Non-trigger values return standard successful server responses for normal testing.
Check Simulator Responses
When triggering the payout simulator with a relevant amount, an artificial platform response is returned with a message explaining the reason.
To find the platform payout simulator response messages:
Select Withdrawals in the left navigation panel.
Select the relevant withdrawal from the Withdrawal History section to open the Withdrawal Details page.
Review the Alerts section.
Result: The Alerts section displays a list of all platform responses to the payout. For payouts using simulator trigger amounts, the Alerts section shows the applicable simulator response message.
