The Payrix Pro platform supports a variety of payment methods, each with its own setup requirements and compliance considerations. With the ability to process both online and in-person transactions, merchants can build flexible, secure checkout experiences that align with their business model.
The following sections summarize the primary payment methods available by category.
Cards
Merchants can accept major card brands for both card‑not‑present and card‑present transactions. Payrix Pro supports card-processing features such as tokenization, recurring payments, and Level 2 and Level 3 data (when applicable) to help lower interchange fees.
In addition to credit cards, merchants can process PIN debit card payments, providing flexible payment options to their customers and potentially reducing processing costs.
Payrix Pro also supports cards associated with flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and health savings accounts (HSAs). These cards function like debit cards but are restricted to healthcare-related purchases. Eligible merchants can accept FSA and HSA cards if they meet certain processing requirements.
eChecks
Electronic checks (eChecks) enable merchants to accept payments by directly debiting a customer’s bank account. Customers can provide their bank account information, including their routing and account numbers, during checkout without using a physical check.
Merchants in the US can process eCheck payments through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network for both single and recurring payments. Merchants in Canada can use the electronic funds transfer (EFT) protocol. The processing times for eCheck payments differ from card payments.
Digital Wallets
Digital wallets enable customers to pay using their stored card information for a fast and secure checkout experience. You can enable Apple Pay and Google Pay in Payrix Pro so that merchants can accept these forms of payment on their websites or apps.
