Implement Embedded Finance

Prev Next

Setting up Embedded Finance Engine (EFE) requires minimal effort on your end. Worldpay for Platforms handles the majority of the integration effort to connect your platform with financial products. Throughout the implementation process, your Partner Success Manager (PSM) works with you to identify and execute your preferred integration method, your branding choices, and your marketing plan.

Integration Methods

The following table describes the options for integrating with the EFE platform. Regardless of the method you choose, your Merchants will experience a seamless process for accessing financial services within a centralized platform that reflects your brand.

Integration Method

Merchant Experience

Partner Responsibilities

No code

Merchants access the Offers page in your white-labeled Payrix Pro Portal. This page is built with a widget that Worldpay for Platforms white labels and embeds on your behalf.

  • Manage the marketing of financial products to Merchants.

  • After onboarding, enable or disable embedded finance for Merchants.

Low code

Merchants access financial offers through a widget embedded in your own platform or application. Worldpay for Platforms white labels the widget on your behalf.

In addition to the responsibilities listed for no-code integration:

  • Integrate the widget using the Payrix Pro API and a few lines of code. See Embed the EFE Widget in the Payrix Pro developer documentation for details.

  • Use the Payrix Pro API or webhooks to get details about products and offers.

Branding Guidelines

The Implementations team white labels or co-brands your solution based on the assets and style preferences you provide. A white-labeled solution uses your logo. A co-branded solution uses your logo alongside the embedded finance provider’s logo.

You have the following branding options:

  • Logo: The logo is displayed in the offer overview section of your portal. We recommend providing a horizontal logo that meets the following requirements:

    • File type: PNG or JPEG file

    • Aspect ratio: 16:9 or 3:4

  • Favicon: The favicon represents your site in browser tabs. Provide an ICO file.

  • Theme: Select a preconfigured theme or fully customize your theme.

    • A preconfigured theme sets a color theme that matches your brand identity. All preconfigured themes use a Source Sans 3 font, a 1-pixel button border width, and an 8-pixel button border radius. Choose one of the following themes:

      • Dark (black and blue)

      • Deep purple

      • Light (blue and white)

      • Orange

      • Teal

    • A fully customized theme sets the font, colors, and button styles to reflect your brand. The following table describes each setting.

      Custom Theme Setting

      Description

      Options

      Font family

Sets the font used for all text displayed in the portal

      1 to 8 pixels

Note: If no preference is specified, the default setting of 8 pixels will be applied.

Onboard to Embedded Finance

Your involvement in the EFE implementation process includes the following phases:

  1. Onboarding kickoff

  2. Marketing collateral creation and signoff

  3. Portal setup

The following sections describe each implementation phase and the tasks that you must complete to onboard to the Embedded Financial Engine and start offering financial products on your platform.

Onboarding Kickoff

During the first phase of the implementation process, you’ll attend a kickoff call with your PSM and the Implementations team. This call covers topics concerning the EFE platform, including the support model, integration options, best practices for emails and branding, the implementation timeline, and next steps.

After the kickoff call, complete the following to begin setup of your embedded financial solution:

  1. Confirm your branding and marketing preferences. The following table describes each choice you need to communicate to Worldpay for Platforms:

    Implementation Preference

    Partner Action

    Additional Information

    Branding

Determine the following for your brand:

    • Whether to white label or co-brand the embedded solution

    • The name of the financial program you’re offering to Merchants

See the Branding Guidelines section for more information about branding.

    Offer file receipt

Confirm the methods for Merchant receipt of offers:

    • Display offers in the Payrix Pro portal

    • Deliver through secured email

    • Notify through webhooks

See the Configure Web and Email Alerts section for more information about webhooks and email alerts.

    Email cadence

Confirm the frequency for sending marketing emails.

We recommend an email cadence of every two to four weeks.

  2. Provide your preferred integration method.

  3. Complete the onboarding questionnaire.

Marketing Collateral Creation and Signoff

During this implementation phase, you will:

  1. Review the email templates that you’ll use for marketing your solution to merchants. See the next section for each template.

  2. (Optional) Create additional marketing collateral, such as the offer landing page.

  3. Submit your logo and marketing materials to the Implementations team for approval by the embedded finance provider. See the Branding Guidelines section for guidelines on the logo.

While the embedded finance provider reviews your submitted materials, the Implementations team will inform you of any changes that you need to make for legal or compliance reasons.

During this implementation phase, the Implementations team also collaborates with the embedded finance provider and other teams at Worldpay for Platforms to connect your Payrix Pro platform data to EFE.

Review Email Templates

You can use the following templates for your program launch email and offer emails. These templates have been pre-approved by Parafin for marketing use. If you want to make any changes, you must submit your modified emails for approval by Parafin.

Customize Branding

To customize the branding of your financial offering, complete the following steps:

  1. Provide your branding and email routing preferences to the Implementations team, who will apply the proper configurations. See the Branding Guidelines section for branding options.

  2. Validate the brand configurations in your Payrix Pro portal or native platform.

You can set up web alerts (also known as webhooks) and email alerts if you want to send automated notifications about financial offers to your system or to Merchants. The following events can trigger EFE offer alerts:

  • VAS EFE Offer Created: Sends a notification when an offer is created for a Merchant

  • VAS EFE Offer Expiring: Sends a notification seven days before an offer expires

  • VAS EFE Offer Approved: Sends a notification when an offer is approved

See Setting Up Web Alerts (Webhooks) and Setting Up Email Alerts for details on how to set up each type of alert. For a no-code integration, the Implementations team will support you in setting up your webhooks and email alerts.

Manage Embedded Finance for a Merchant

After onboarding to EFE, your financial offerings are enabled for all Merchants who meet Parafin’s eligibility criteria.

To exclude a Merchant from your financial offerings:

  1. Access the Payrix Pro portal.

  2. Under Admin in the left navigation menu, select Embedded Finance.

  3. Find the row with the name of the Merchant you want to exclude from financial offerings and click Disable.

You can return to the same page to re-enable financial offerings for the Merchant at any time.
